LT Alumni Book Discussion: Emergent Strategy

Science fiction is simply a way to practice the future together. I suspect that is what many of you are up to, practicing futures together, living into new stories. It is our right and responsibility to create a new world. What we pay attention to grows, so I’m thinking about how we grow what we are all imagining and creating into something large enough and solid enough that it becomes a tipping point.
— adrienne maree brown

In unprecedented times like this, we have an opportunity to reset and reinvent systems that don’t serve us well, especially systems that disproportionately impact vulnerable and marginalized groups. To help move this work forward, we hope you will join us in reading and discussing the book “Emergent Strategy,” by adrienne maree brown. Brown combines insights from science fiction and complex systems theory with her own experiences as a facilitator and activist to help us reimagine and redesign the world around us. During this one-hour session, we will provide opportunities for large- and small-group discussions, as well as offer ways to connect after the event. Let’s think together about how we can use this opportunity to create a more just and equitable region.
