LT'20 Graduation & Alumni Reunion - Highlights and Resources
Last week we celebrated the Class of 2020 and welcomed them to the LT alumni community at the LT'20 Graduation and Alumni Reunion. Family members, friends, colleagues, and alumni from around the country joined together to reflect, inspire, and connect around leading through crisis and opportunity.
You can watch the recording of the event here.
Links and Resources:
Spotify Playlist: We have had many requests for the evening's playlist, which was put together by Ashraf Hasham, LT'20, and Jenefeness Tucker, Honorary LT. Listen to the playlist here.
LT'20 Class Video: This year’s video was put together by one of the Lab Teams as their project. In the video, LT'20 class members share how leadership has shown up during the pandemic and how they have utilized the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership from The Leadership Challenge, one of the texts the class studies during their year. Watch the video here.
Class Speaker Presentations, LT'20 Black Caucus (Darryl Perry, Desireé Wilkins-Finch, and Robert Harmon): The Class Speakers spoke passionately about antiracism and leadership, and made a call to action for all of us as individuals and as a community. To see their presentations, watch the recording starting at 32 minutes, 25 seconds.
In Darryl Perry's presentation, he recited two poems written by Nancy Levi Arnez, which you can read here. In Desireé Wilkins-Finch's presentation, she asked LT'20 class members and attendees to share how they planned to combat racism and anti-blackness. You can read the responses here (Note: this document is several pages, so you need to scroll to read all of the responses).
It is our charge -- as leaders in this community and in partnership with all members of our community -- to find ways to work toward racial justice and to foster sustainable change. This work is personal, organizational, and systemic. We are all part of the solution. We are confident that if we work with each other, for each other, we will emerge from this crisis together as a more just, equitable, and resilient community.
